The New Zealand ‘round the paddock tour takes you on an 9-day journey from the playground of Queenstown north to the city life of Christchurch. You will stay in 3-4+ star luxury accommodation in the evening, while riding up, over and around some of the most spectacular landscape NZ’s South Island has to offer. Words simply cannot do justice to this country’s outlandishly beautiful scenery, or the vibrant Maori culture that is around every corner and in the smile of NZ’s indigenous culture.
Covering just over 150,000 square kilometres and with just under 5000kms of roads, the South Island is 10,000 years old in its’ current form. The youth of this country is highlighted by the ever changing profile of the 650km Alpine mountain range as the Pacific and Australian/Indian plates of the earths crust continue to push against each other in a fight for supremacy. It was 1991 when the top of Mt Cook lost 10 metres of height overnight from the pressure that these two enourmaous forces create.
We, however, don’t intend to join this battle!
The New Zealand ‘round the paddock tour covers 600kms+ in 7 riding days. You will stay in relaxed and comfortable single/twin share accommodation enjoying local cafes and restaurants in the evening, while riding to the next picturesque town in the day. As well as riding our bikes, we have the opportunity to visit any number of the vast array of winery’s the south island has to offer from Central Otago to Canterbury/Waipara. An opportunity to sample local wines and relax, or purchase cellar door wines for the evening meal.
