Following up from a highly successful first year on the UCI Pro Tour, Adelaide's Tour Down Under once again brings together the cream of international cycling. Give a warm welcome to the 19 teams which make up the Pro Tour cycling circus as it comes to Australian shores for the second year running. It's your chance to see the current cream of international cycling go head to head on the sunny streets of South Australia.

Based in cosmopolitan North Adelaide, participants will be well placed for access to the Tour Down Under Village, Pro Tour Teams and the city life of Adelaide. The Tour Down Under Village is the engine room of the event - riders and teams take off from here each morning and return each afternoon. But unlike most European events, centre stage for the Tour Down Under is designed as much for the fans as the competing teams.

OTH Tours are making available a limited number of places in the Adelaide - Tour Down Under 2009. Each day we ride across the varied terrain that is Adelaide and the surrounding hills catching up with the Pro Tour at different points of the race. Each day take the opportunity to ride along flat beachside suburbs or time yourself in the local hills including the spectacular ride up to Mount Lofty. Either way you won’t be disappointed! Enjoy your holiday time on and off the bike taking in the atmosphere and city life that is Adelaide.

What to bring

 

ü       Your bike of course!

ü       Clothing for both warm and cooler days

ü       Sunglasses, sun block, chamois cream (highly recommended)

ü       Appropriate cycle clothing, including helmet

ü       Comfortable leisure clothing

ü       A sense of challenge and adventure!

ü       When out on the road it is advised to carry a small repair kit to fix punctures or any other minor repair that may occur. We strongly recommend a thorough, professional tune-up for your bike before you commence your trip.

All accommodation include private rooms of either single or queen configuration in open plan apartment homes, full kitchens, laundry facilities, contemporary furnishings, dining areas, balconies, and reverse cycle air conditioning.
